There are only few places on the Earth which are equally mysterious and beautiful and which impress people so much or induce such emotions. You can only love or hate Arctic... but you cannot be neutral about it. Polar explorers say they are so much charmed by the beauty of this land that sometimes it turns to an addiction. This is what unusual places can do with people, they find you, captivate you and you still want to be back there. It is of no significance whether you have been there once, three times or ten times.

This is out there, beyond the Polar Circle where I became a passionate photographer. It is the only way to tell people, who think of Arctic as about the land of icy desert, that it is full of vivid colours and abundance of flora and fauna. Can you think of a different way to give people impression of wild life in those areas? Is there a better way to describe infinity of the landscapes where mushrooms can reach the size of a willow and glacier walls climb to some hundreds of feet. Photographs open to the viewers the word I can see with my own eyes.

The idea of organising natural and photographic expeditions arose in my mind a few years ago and it was to serve double duty to join my passion and scientific work. The plan I originally found to be unreal became gradually to materialise. By good fortune I met some people for whom the word of "Arctic" sounds like a signal to start an adventure as well as nature lovers, extreme experience seekers and photographers.

Arctic is not an unknown land somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Nowadays, it is almost at everyone's fingertips, yet ignorance of wildlife, geography or history of the polar area is common. Although you can easily get any information needed, people still confuse Arctic with Antarctica. Some say Arctic is a penguins habitat! All this resulted with the idea of documentary and education exhibitions to present photographs and memories of landscapes and wide life and to introduce various forms of human activities beyond the Polar Circle. It is not only the exhibitions where I share my knowledge but I also give lectures or provide my photographs for publications.

I am very often asked about reasons for all of this. People wonder why I just do not stick to the expeditions. The reason is very simple. Whenever I wander with others around all these places I share my knowledge, sensitivity to the beauty of the nature and climates which only can be experienced during expeditions. I encourage people to discover their own passions. Not only those related to photography or travelling but any possible.
